I totally agree with you. In fact, I‘ve actually been discussing this episode with a friend of mine, and what we’re taking away from this is that it’s not an episode of a sudden revelation for Nick, but more that the episode itself seems out of order.

Sure, you get a sense that it might have been slightly filler despite the necessity of the character development we get from it. However, we think that this episode would have been better placed between Table 34 and Parking Spot. The sheer fact that there is NO mention whatsoever about the moment they had in the last episode proves this theory (you know, until 1st Date trumps it at least). And sure, his dad is dead and there are bigger fish to fry right now than a mere will-they-wont-they action. Still, I feel like something would have been referenced, yet nothing was.

I’ll be testing the order of episodes tonight, but I’d be interested in seeing if there are any other fans out there that think we may be onto something here.
